Privacy Policy
WordDream collects only the data needed to provide accounts, AI dictionary features, study history, abuse prevention, and service operations.
Data we collect
We store your account profile, email, linked sign-in provider, language preferences, saved words, reviews, stories, chats, quotas, and technical request information such as IP address and user agent used for security.
AI and service providers
Prompts and generated content may be processed by OpenRouter using google/gemini-3.1-flash-lite for text and google/gemini-3.1-flash-lite-image for images. Word pronunciations are synthesized locally on your device by your browser's speech engine, and no pronunciation text or audio is sent to our servers or any third party. Hosting and data services include Vercel, Neon, Cloudflare R2 and Turnstile, Tencent Cloud Captcha for users in mainland China, Resend, and Google, GitHub, or X when you choose those sign-in methods.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential authentication and security cookies, a locale cookie, a guest quota cookie, a local bearer-token fallback for browsers that block cookies, and analytics cookies or local storage when measurement is enabled. We do not use analytics for advertising personalization or sell personal data.
Analytics
On the public website, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measures aggregate page visits and basic site usage. When WordDream enables PostHog product analytics, PostHog processes pseudonymous browser or device identifiers and selected product events such as lookup, saving, study, and subscription-flow events. Session recording and automatic capture are disabled. These tools may process pages viewed, device and browser details, and approximate location. We use them for site and product measurement, not advertising personalization.
Use, sharing, and retention
We use data to operate, secure, improve, and support WordDream. We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with processors needed to provide the service or when legally required. Account data is retained while your account exists; security and operational logs may be retained for a limited period.
Your choices
You can change reminder preferences, download a JSON copy of your data, or permanently delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes user-specific records and personal R2 objects; shared dictionary cache entries are retained because they are not tied to one user.
Security, children, and contact
We use access controls, encryption in transit, isolated production credentials, and abuse protection, but no online service is risk-free. WordDream is not directed to children under 13. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@worddream.io.
